Pearl Watch
Breast Cancer Risk-Awareness Calculator
Breast Cancer Risk-Awareness Calculator
Foundational habits and long-term well-being are established during early development, influencing your breast health and personal risk for breast cancer. Building your awareness and your healthy habits now is essential. At Pearl Watch, you can fill out a survey to calculate your "risk-awareness" score, consisting of your risk (and ways to reduce it) and your awareness level (and ways to optimize it). You will also learn how to use a couple of public databases to understand the widespread incidence of breast cancer.
How much do you know about your lifestyle habits and the environmental factors that surround you? To find out, use the calculator to assess your risk and awareness- level. Please read the Disclaimers & Terms of Use.
Learn how to navigate and interpret real public health data by building skills to read trends, understand risk factors, and evaluate sources.
The Problem
Breast cancer prevention begins with understanding, which should start early, when women are adolescents or young adults. In recent years, incidence rates have risen across nearly all demographic groups, especially in the young-onset (usually under age 50) category. There is thus a need for proactive education and accessible risk assessment.
Pearl Watch is built on the belief that young people should have the opportunity be aware of their personal health habits and explore how to improve them before breast cancer risk factors accumulate.
